It’s time to begin to think about the coming school year with school registrations planned at area schools over the coming weeks.
Registration in the Mount Ayr Community school district will be August 1-2. The Clearfield school registration will be Friday, Aug. 3.
Registration for the Diagonal district will be Tuesday and Thurday, Aug. 14-16.
School begins Tuesday, Aug. 21 in all three county area school districts.
Mount Ayr Community district
Registration for students in the Mount Ayr Community school district will be held in the elementary cafeteria on Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Fees will be $35 per student. Lunch and breakfast will also be payable at this time. Separate checks will be needed for registration and meal fees.
Those intending to apply for free or reduced meals should bring proof of financial eligibility with them and complete forms at the time of registration.
If unable to register on the specified dates, you may pre-register at the elementary office during business hours through August 17. Registrations made after August 17 will have a $10 per student late charge.
The student athletic passes will be offered again at $35 each for all sports activities.
Adult season passes will be $30 for volleyball, and $25 for football.
Raider clothing will also be for sale at registration.

Clearfield registration
Registration for students in the Clearfield Community school district will held Friday, Aug. 3 this year.
The registration will be done at the school office from 1 to 6 p.m. that day.
Diagonal registration
Registration in the Diagonal Community school district will be a week and a half later on Tuesday, Aug. 14, and Thursday, Aug. 16.
The registration will held from 3 to 6 p.m. on both days in the school office.
Unless prior arrangements are made with the school office, there will be a $10 late fee charge for any family who registers after August 16.
Diagonal school supply lists are available at Jerry’s Sinclair in Diagonal; Pamida, CGI, Hy-Vee and Dollar General in Mount Ayr; Walmart, Hy-Vee, Fareway and Dollar General in Creston and Walmart in Osceola.
Diagonal assignment books, three ring binders, jump drives and Texas Instrument calculators will be for sale at registration at the school.
