Richard “Dick” Gross, 78, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Creston, Iowa, died February 22, 2010 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.  Gross, son of Lester Okey Gross and Opal Mae (Horney) Gross, was born July 3, 1931 in Arispe, Iowa.

 Carolyn J. Kaster, 66, of Creston, Iowa died February 11, 2010, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home.The daughter of Lucille W. (Allen) and Glen H. Higgins, she was born June 24, 1943 in Creston, Iowa.

 Mildred Matthews, 94, of Coarsegold, California entered eternity Friday, February 12, 2010. Mildred, lovingly called Millie, Mil and even “the Old Crab,” was the seventh child born to Daniel and Blanche Knox Bruner on July 13, 1915. Millie spent the first 91 years of her full life in Clearfield, Iowa

Irene Israel was born on February 28, 1923 and died peacefully in her sleep at home in Highland, California and went to be with the Lord at the age of 86 on February 14, 2010.

  H.W. “Bib” Combs was born March 23, 1918 in the farm home of his parents, Charley Combs and Mae (Wilkinson) Combs, near Allendale, Missouri. He passed away on February 15, 2010 at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

 Doyle Lee Adams was born November 29, 1934 in Ringgold county, Iowa the son of Lewis and Hazel (Baker) Adams. Doyle passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 75 years, two months and 19 days.

Walter Ivan Matzen, 93, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at his residence in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 

Walter was born December 4, 1917, the son of Andrew and Minnie Matzen at Mason City, Iowa. 

 Gwen Livesay Kennedy, 72, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa on February 3, 2010. Gwen was born in Ringgold county to Richard and Margaret Livesay on November 1, 1937.

 Joseph Miles Minarik was born December 8, 1966 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Susan and Joseph R. Minarik. A funeral mass was held at Saint Michael’s Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 30, 2010. 

 Alice Darlene Bruner Larsen, youngest daughter of Frederick Arthur and Ava E. (Greer) Bruner, was born November 7, 1928 at Clearfield, Iowa. She died February 4, 2010 at the Clearview Home in Clearfield after a lengthy illness
