Raiders to host Des Moines Christian in district opener Friday

Mount Ayr Community will  open District 7 play by hosting the Des Moines Christian Lions at 7 p.m. on the Raiders home field Friday night.
The Lions are 2-0 and have victories over Pella Christian and EHK-Exira to their credit.   The Lions are big and fast and have to be considered as one of the favorites in District 7.
Des Moines Christian started their football program in 2002 as an eight-man team. In 2004 they  made the move to 11-man football.
The Lions offense is a version of the run and shoot.  They run a modified option attack, similar to Mount Ayr Community’s offense.
The Raiders will have to play their best game of the season in order to get off on the right foot in district play.   The Raiders would appreciate a large home crowd cheering them for them this Friday.
