The Raider and Raiderette golfers opened the 2010 campaign with victories over the Martensdale-St.Marys Blue Devils and the Southeast Warren Warhawks on April 8 in Mount Ayr.
The Raiders carded a 199, Southeast Warren a 223 and Martensdale-St. Marys failed to post a team score as they had only three golfers.
Taylor Hagen from Martensdale-St.Marys was the medalist with a 43 and the Raiders’ Jake Glendenning was the runner-up with a 45.
The rest of the Raider scoring: Dusty Lyden--50, Russell Reynolds--50, Ethan Pollock--54, Alex Wallace--56, and Levi Stark--65.
The Raiderettes easily downed the visitors by shooting a good opening match score of 213. The Lady Blue Devils shot 249 and the Lady Warhawks turned in a 280 total.
Molly Budach fired a 48 to take the medalist honor and teammate Kelsey Glendenning carded a 51 for the runner-up spot. The remaining Raiderettes scores were: Jacy England--55, Annie Uhlenkamp--59, Maci Sickels--62, and Johanna Scott--62.
Next action
The Raiders and Raiderettes played Wayne on Tuesday and travel to Leon today (Thursday). Monday, April 19, the teams travel to Central Decatur again to take on Central Decatur and Interstate 35. They come back home Tuesday, April 20 to host East Union, Southeast Warren and South Page.
