Elsie M. Taylor Armstrong was born August 30, 1882 in Harrison Township, Delaware County, Indiana, and departed this life February 21, 1929, at the age of 46 years, five months and 22 days. She was the daughter of Henry H. and Lillie Minton Taylor.
In 1900 she was united in marriage to Charles C. Armstrong. To this union was born four children, three daughters, Thelma, Carol, Louine and one son Ronald.
Her life was devoted to her family and to her friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, holding ever before them and exemplifying by her beautiful life the highest ideals of a true Christian life.
About 21 years ago she became a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church and six years ago she had her membership transferred to the Corinth U.B. Church, where she was superintendent of the Sunday school until ill health caused her to cease that activity.
She lived in the largest sense of the word, patient, sacrificing for friend and stranger. Self was the last thought in her heart of mind. She was a member of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, hoping during this last illness that she might be permitted to attend some of the planned meetings to further the cause of right for God and home and every hand.
A beautiful life has passed from us. A cloak of love and honor has slipped from tired shoulders of the loved ones who mourn her death. Her physical suffering, which was great, indeed, has ceased. All mental worries and cares are past and she with loved ones who have passed on before is today with her Savior in Paradise.
She leave to mourn their loss, the husband, Charles C. Armstrong, four children, Mrs. Thelma Tuttle; Mrs. Carol Gibson; Ronald and Louine; a mother, Mrs. Lillie Minton Taylor; two brothers, Howard and Marvin Taylor and two grandchildren, Donald Rae and Eleanor Sue Gibson and a host of loving friends.
