LOUISA FOUSER GEIST

LOUISA FOUSER, WIFE OF ALBERT H. GEIST, WAS BORN MAY 22, 1849, AT UNION TOWN, STARK COUNRY, OHIO, AND PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME IN ELLSTON, JANUARY 26, 1930 AT THE AGE OF 81 YEARS, EIGHT MONTHS AND FOUR DAYS.

SISTER GEIST HAS BEEN A LONG RESIDENT OF THIS PLACE; SHE AND HER PARENTS MOVED FROM OHIO TO ILLINOIS WHEN SHE WAS ELEVEN YEARS OF AGE. HERE SHE REMAINED FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.

ON DECEMBER 1, 1866, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ALBERT H. GEIST, AND TO THIS UNION WAS BORN ONE SON ELMER.

IN THE YEAR OF 1882 SHE MOVED TO IOWA, ARRIVING AT KELLERTON, THE NEAREST RAILWAY STATION IN THIS PART AT THE TIME AND SETTLED ON A FARM BETWEEN ELLSTON AND BEACONSFIELD. SHE WAS THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF A FAMILY OF TWELVE CHILDREN.

SISTER GEIST HAS BEEN A LOYAL WORKER AND SUPPORTER OF THE METHODIST CAUSE FOR A GOOD MANY YEARS; SHE WAS CONVERTED AT THE AGE OF TWENTY-NINE AND UNITED WITH THE METHODIST CHURCH BACK IN PLAINSFIELD, IL. AFTER COMING TO IOWA SHE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE EVANGELICAL CHURCH OF ELLSTON AND WHEN THE CHURCH WAS DISCONINUED, SHE UNITED WITH THE METHODIST CHURCH OF BEACONSFIELD, AND THEN TRANSFERRED BACK TO THE ELLSTON M.E. CHUCH, WHICH SHE SERVED FAITHFULLY UNTIL THE TIME OF HER DEATH.

SHE LEAVE TO MOURN HER DEPARTURE, HER HUSBAND, ONE SON ELMER, TWO GRANDSONS, LORING E. AND CARROLL P., BESIDES A HOST OF FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.

THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE M.E. CHURCH TUESDAY AT 2.
