Lillian Joyce Chittim October 10, 1919 – November 30, 2009

Lillian Joyce Chittim was born October 10, 1919 to John Normer and Azalea (Young) McFall in McFall, Missouri. She passed away November 30, 2009 at Mount Ayr Health Care at the age of 90 years, one month and 20 days.
Joyce went to country school at Lone Rock, graduating from Albany high school. On December 25, 1938 Joyce married G.M. Chittim at the church parsonage in Albany, Missouri. To this union, a daughter was born, Norma.
Joyce’s husband, G.M., ran a filling station in Albany for 45 years. Joyce spent most of her time running an in’home day care for several children, as being surrounded by kids made her very happy. Joyce was very close to her twin granddaughters, Jenny O’Brien and Jody Lipcamon, and adored her two great-grandchildren, Callie and Cavan O’Brien.
Joyce was known for her love of the color purple and her favorite snack, a Hershey’s candy bar. Going out to eat with her family and taking long Sunday afternoon drives were two of Joyce’s favorite things to do.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband, G.M.; sister, Charlene Llafet, and her parents, John and Azalea McFall.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Norma and husband Jerry Shields of Mount Ayr, Iowa; granddaughters, Jenny and husband Rob O’Brien of Paola, Kansas and Jody and husband Larry Lipcamon of Coralville, Iowa, and two great-grandchildren, Callie and Cavan O’Brien.
Joyce is survived by one sister, Betty and husband Kenny Llafet of Saint Joseph, Missouri.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends at Mount Ayr Health Care.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.
