Adrian John Garcia August 8, 1977 – April 23, 2010

Adrian John Garcia, son of Francisco R. and Agnes (Arias) Garcia, was born August 8, 1977 in Clovis, New Mexico. Adrian graduated from high school in Clovis. He received a two-year degree in college. He moved with his family to Mount Ayr about six years ago. Adrian was a chef and had worked at the restaurants in the area. Adrian also helped with the food pantry and attended the Bank of Christ Church in Kellerton.

Adrian passed away at his home on April 23, 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes; two brothers, Javier Garcia and Juan Jose; paternal grandparents, Antonio and Maria Garcia, and paternal grandparents, Esmael and Estella Arias.

Survivors include his father, Francisco Garcia of Mount Ayr, Iowa; sister, Anna Alicia Garcia; brother, Julian Williams of Iowa; aunts, Teresa Garra of Mexico and Mary Ellen Aragon of Clovis, New Mexico; cousins, Joe Garcia and Kika Arenas of Colorado, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Rev. Sandy Mercer and Pastor Kathy Johnston officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to the family.
