Ned A. Foltz January 31, 1956 – August 14, 2011

Ned A. Foltz, son of Hazel Irene (Smith) Foltz and Claire LeRoy Foltz, was born January 31, 1956, in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Ned grew up and graduated from Mount Ayr Community high school in 1974. Ned went on to motorcycle mechanics school in Kansas City and worked in Maryville, MO. He returned to the farm for a few years before going back to college, beginning at Southwest Iowa Community College and graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in business administration.
Ned married Debbie Sickels and to this marriage were born a son Nick and daughter Cassie. They later divorced.
Ned married Lori Nichols and to this marriage was born a daughter Jessica.
Ned lived several years in the Des Moines area and managed several businesses. Ned loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading about history and baseball which included playing catch. Ned enjoyed motorcycles and fast cars. He was a history buff and had a passion for music that included dancing and going to numerous concerts over the years. Of all of his loves and interests, Ned loved his children the most.
Ned returned to Mount Ayr to live and on August 14, 2011, he passed away with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claire Foltz and two sisters Nancy Irving and Kaye Ward.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Nick Foltz of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Cassie Hudson and husband Matthew of Creston, Iowa and Jessica Foltz of DeSoto, Iowa; one grandson, Sam Hudson; his mother, Hazel Foltz of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Lynne Foltz of Des Moines, Iowa and his brother, Lee Foltz and wife Linda of Waukee, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr with Reverends Chris Conklin and Edward Shields officiating.
Casket bearers were Jeremy Irving, Colby Irving, Jessie Foltz, Logan Ward, Luke Ward and Spenser Foltz.
Ned was laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Ned Foltz. Arrangements were by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
