The Bedford Bulldogs came to Mount Ayr to face the Mount Ayr Raiderettes last Tuesday night.
The contest went six innings as the Raiderettes climbed their way to 10 runs to end the contest an inning short, not allowing any runs for Bedford.
Senior, Sam Stewart, saw three hits, two runs and one RBI and stole four bases to help drive the Raiderettes to victory.
Junior standout Channler Henle led the team in RBI with two that came off a home-run.
Rachel Sobotka had a good night at the plate as well with a hit over the fence for a home-run.
Pitching for the Raiderettes was Addy Reynolds. She allowed two hits and struckout four of the 19 batters she saw.
Behind the circle, the Raiderette defense saw 18 putouts on 28 total chances and committed no errors.
“I was very happy with our energy tonight,” said coach Bret Ruggles. “I told the girls it’s easy to have energy on day one, it’s harder on day two, good news is we were coming home and the home crowd helps with that. We hit the ball well tonight, two home-runs are great.”

The Raiderettes hosted the Central Decatur Cardinals last Friday, July 3 in a match-up that did not go in their favor.
Despite going up 2-0 early in the first, errors and miscues saw the Raiderettes give up two runs in the second, tieing the game.
By the fourth, the Cardinals took the lead and Mount Ayr struggled to get any runners across the plate.
The Raiderettes fell to 7-3 on the season after a 4-2 defeat.
In the loss, Mount Ayr scored two runs on three hits and only took one walk.
The Raiderettes had 21 putouts on 30 chances but committed a total of three errors.
In the circle, Addy Reynolds saw 25 batters, striking out six, walking one and allowed four runs on eight hits.
The Cardinal offense hit the ball hard and deep, seeing one home-run and three doubles to the fence, while driving in three RBI.
In the field, Central Decatur had two errors and 21 putouts on 27 total chances.
Sophomore Kylee Rockhold took the circle and saw 24 batters, striking out six and allowed two runs on three hits.
“We did not execute well,” said coach Ruggles. “In regional time, that’s going to be a loss. We played great defensively, we did some really nice things, we just aren’t hitting the ball like we can against good pitchers.”
