The Iowa High School Athletic Association has revised their 2020 football schedule which allows for member school adjustments due to COVID-19.
August 10 is still set to be the first practice date, while August 27 will remain as the first competition date.
Semifinals (November 13-15) and finals (November 20-21) are still unchanged.
The IHSAA scheduling plan will feature a seven-week regular season with teams having the option of scheduling five, six or seven games within those seven weeks.
One major change this season is that all teams will qualify for the post-season.
Brackets will consist of six rounds for each classification. The IHSAA will determine pairings with geography, quality and team availability as primary considerations. RPI will no be utilized in the 2020 season.
If a team tests positive for COVID-19, the revised plan does NOT penalize teams with a loss or forfeit.
A missed game due to COVID-19 will be considered a “no-contest” and will not be made up.
A Mount Ayr Raider schedule is in the works and will be released within the next few weeks.
