Pam Poore will retire as Mount Ayr City Clerk at the end of the year. Poore has worked for the city for over 29 years.
At the conclusion of their meeting Monday night, the Mount Ayr city council accepted the resignation of long-time city clerk Pam Poore.
Poore plans to retire effective December 31.
Poore has served in city hall for over 29 years, beginning as a part-time employee who was responsible for writing out the water bills by hand.
She moved into full-time employment as deputy city clerk prior to assuming the role of city clerk on January 1, 2006.
Poore considers upgrades to the city’s infrastructure and water distribution system and renovations at city hall to be major accomplishments she has seen during her time with the city.
Poore and her husband Clint have three children: Caine, 39; Callie, 35; and Brady, 25.
She has no specific plans during retirement other than to “catch my breath… travel… and enjoy myself.”
