The Raiderettes faced a tough Nodaway Valley volleyball team Wednesday, October 21.
The Raiderettes held with the Wolverines, but the strong attack of the Nodaway Valley girls charged forward, defeating them 25-14, 25-17 and 25-19, to win it after three.
The Raiderettes finished out the season 4-14 and will graduate a number of seniors including: Channler Henle, Hope Whittington, Rachel Sobotka, Avery Dickerson, Alexa Anderson, Kylian Wise and Rachael Lutrick.
The team hopes to bring back a strong core next year with more experience under their belts, including first year coaches Kristen Graham and Mariah Mason.
“We just have to keep working as a team together and work in the offseason,” said coach Graham. “COVID hit us and we weren’t able to get into the gym and I am hoping we can start earlier this next season. As my first year as a coach, it was definitely challenging at times and it has been a learning experience and hope to incorporate what I learned next year.”
With the group coming back, coach Graham has high hopes.
“Absolutely, we have a lot of good talent coming back,” said coach Graham. “We have a great group of seniors graduating but a lot of experience coming back in the underclassman.”
