The Raiderettes had a tough outing against a strong Panorama Panther team last Tuesday, losing 50-32.
“We have things to work on that’s for sure,” said coach Thad Streit. “Too many mistakes tonight. You can’t do that to a good team and expect to be in it at the end.”
The Raiderette passing game wasn’t up-to-par, giving up the ball 23 times and only stealing the ball six times themselves.
Mount Ayr only shot 16 percent from the field. Payten Lambert and Rachel Sobotka led the team, making two buckets each from inside the paint, while Lambert also had a three.
At the line, the Raiderettes were 15-of-32.
“We aren’t very good on offense right now,” said coach Thad Streit. “We aren’t very good on timing, our chemistry is off, it’s little things that aren’t making our offense. This group might need to try something new on offense.”

The Raiderettes saw the Southwest Valley Timberwolves on Friday, after their loss to the Panthers on Tuesday, looking in old form.
The Raiderettes took care of business and snagged a 55-35 win against their Pride of Iowa foe from Corning.
“Our defense played really well, we played hard and fast,” said coach Streit. “I thought we took a step forward offensively and did some nice things, but we can’t be satisfied and need to get better.”
Mount Ayr improved its shooting from its previous 16 percent to 39.6 percent, hitting 19-of-48 from the field and three-of-10 from outside the arc.
From the stripe, the Raiderettes shot 53.8 percent, hitting 14-of-26 freethrows.
Alexa Anderson was selected as KMALand player of the game with 12 points on the board to lead the Raiderettes with three shots from inside the paint and six-of-eight from the line.
Anderson snagged six boards, one assist and had six steals on the night.
The win put them at 3-1 on the season, while dropping the Timberwolves to 0-3.
So far in the Pride of Iowa, Mount Ayr sits in third while Wayne and Lenox are 4-0 and 3-0, respectively.
Mount Ayr hosted Lenox on Tuesday, in Mount Ayr.
