According to latest statistics compiled by the Iowa Department of Public Health, the percentage of positive cases of COVID-19 in Ringgold County stands at 2.4 percent among those tested over the past seven days. well below the 4.4 percent state average.
The county’s 14-day positivity rate came in at 2.6 percent, again below the 4.3 percent state average.
Not all surrounding counties fared as well in the latest statistics.

Ringgold County ranks fourth in the fewest number of positive cases statewide since the beginning of the pandemic.
At 522 total positive cases, Ringgold County trails Adams County with 324 positive results, Audubon County ans Wayne County, both with 484.
In comparison, totals from surrounding counties include 1,263 in Union, 1,003 in Clarke, 664 in Taylor, and 578 in Decatur.
In Ringgold County, 17 deaths have been directly attributed to COVID-19 with three additional death indirectly attributed to COVID-19 since March.
Death tolls in surrounding counties include Union – 31 (26 directly – 5 indirectly), Clarke – 20 (20-0), Taylor – 12 (10-2), Decatur – 9 (9-0), and Adams – 4 (4-0).
