To the editor:
We moved to Ringgold County (Mount Ayr) four years ago. We learned that a BIBLE READING MARATHON is held each year at the shelter on the Courthouse square. Where we lived in Indiana, nothing like this would be allowed. Reading the Bible aloud would not happen either!
We feel this event is something EVERY Christian should do, but should also want to spread God’s word. As Christians we should all be like the leaders in the Old Testament; not be afraid to read God’s word aloud for everyone to hear.
Christians in this county need to wake up to what is happening in today’s world. It isn’t good!!! Why are so many of them afraid to SHARE our Lord and Savior’s word????? Every year the SAME people participate in the Bible reading. We would love to see young people come out and read with us. We as Christians should be ashamed for not sharing God’s word with others!
