rAyr Market to feature local meats, artisan pizzas, Iowa goods
Like so many ideas, one of the newest businesses in town started with a ‘what if’ conversation. What if we could fill empty spaces in the community? What if we could provide a gateway to more goods, especially those made and produced by our friends, family, and neighbors?
This conversation blossomed into rAyr (pronounced rare), located next to the Princess Theater on the south side of the Mount Ayr Square. This locally owned business will feature quality options that reflect the heart of small businesses while providing the conveniences today’s world demands with the standards residents and visitors deserve. Expect locally raised meats; pizza by the whole, half and quarter; snacks and Iowa based goods; and a selection of beverages – including fountain soft drinks, beer and Iowa wines.
rAyr will feature artisan pizza, with the dough and a house made marinara developed exclusively for rAyr by chefs from M’tucci’s Moderno Italian Restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in partnership with the rAyr staff. Expect rAyr meats on many of the pizzas, as well as other locally sourced toppings.
“We are excited to open our doors later this month for retail purchases and pizza carryout,” says Justin Cole, rAyr’s board president. “Expect quality beef and pork from the same producers you know and trust. We are thankful for local investors, volunteers and partners who have evolved this idea into a reality. It will truly be a flavor destination to bring and keep more business in our community.”
