The Raiders finished their season atop the Pride of Iowa Conference for the second straight year, however, the first as the sole owners of the title.
The Raiders were 16-4 on the season overall, and 12-1 in the conference.
The ultimate goal of a State Berth fell short, though, after falling to Lamoni in the second round of District Play against a tough Lamoni Demon team.
Mount Ayr put up good numbers throughout the year, especially at the plate.
The Raiders recorded a batting average of .362 with an on base percentage of .477 and a slugging percentage of .524, while running a total of 295 bases.
The Raiders were at-bat 563 times, recording 206 runs on 204 hits with 166 RBI and 15 home runs.
Leading the bats was Jaixen Frost who boasted an average of .548 which was also fourth in the State.
Frost saw 62 at-bats that produced 40 runs on 34 hits, seven home runs, 33 RBI and a slugging percentage of 1.081, while also drawing 21 walks with only four strikeouts.
The Raider base-runners produced 206 runs on 295 total bases with 124 bases stolen on 135 attempts.
The Raiders used 12 arms on the mound throughout the season, throwing a combined total of 2,215 pitches, with five pitchers getting the majority of the action.
Frost was 4-0 in his time on the mound, throwing 26.2 innings, second most for Mount Ayr and started only two games, mostly coming in mid-game or closing.
Frost’s opponents had a batting average of .143 when he was throwing and he allowed four runs on 14 hits, two earned, while walking 10 and leading the team in strikeouts with 51, while throwing a total of 417 pitches.
Jace Grose started five games for the Raiders and had a record of 5-1.
Grose pitched in 10 games altogether, throwing 553 pitches with an opponent batting average of .265.
Grose allowed 17 runs on 40 hits, 12 of which were earned, while striking out 36 batters and walking nine.
Daron Drake pitched 12.1 innings and started four games on the mound, while playing in seven.
Drake posted a record of 3-2, while pitching 300 pitches with an opponent batting average of .229.
Drake allowed 20 runs on 11 hits, 12 of which were earned with 13 strikeouts and 17 walks.
Raines Sackett threw 21.2 innings, 394 pitches and had a record of 2-0, starting four games and playing in nine.
Sackett saw an opponent batting average of .284 while allowing 19 runs, 17 earned, on 25 hits. He struck out nine and walked 16.
The Raiders graduate seniors Jace Grose, Adler Shay, Cody Larson and Raines Sackett.
