Cross country traveled down Highway 2 to Leon for the Central Decatur Cardinal Invite.
The Raiderettes, who finished fourth in their previous two meets, finished second Tuesday night with 35 points, just behind the hometown Cardinals with 31 points.
The Cardinals averaged a time of 22:50.11 for a total time of 1:54:10.52, while the Raiderettes averaged a time of 23:02.36 for a total time of 1:55:11.76.
Pleasantville finished third, Wayne fourth and Chariton fifth.
Mount Ayr’s Anne Newton had a fantastic night, finishing third overall with a time of 22:02.93.
Following up Newton was Makenna Jones with a time of 22:40.45 for a ninth place finish to close out the top 10 for Mount Ayr.
Karlie Larsen was just edged out with an 11th place finish after running a 23:09.20.
Finishing 13th was Kacie Larsen with a time of 23:19.74.
Aubree Clark ran a time of 23:59.44 and ended 16th.
Natalie Schaefer ran along with her teammate, Clark, finishing 17th with a time of 24:03.38.
Karly Elwood closed her night out in 22nd with a time of 24:40.24.
Ava England wasn’t too far behind Elwood, finishing 24th with a time of 25:05.43.
Ashlyn Byer was 26th overall with a time of 25:53.33.
Coming in 29th was Lauren Triggs after she ran a 27:06.38.
Kaylun Victor finished her night with a time of 32:52.16 to end up 45th.
Lillie Fuller rounded out the Raiderettes with a time of 49:02.19 to finish 51st.
The Raiders saw Ashtyn Benesh find a little more success after struggling at Wayne just last week, but saw a 26th place finish in Leon with a time of 21:04.88.
Braylon Greenwell was 32nd with a time of 21:36.36.
