Forty years of continuous service in business in Mount Ayr is the unique record of C.R. Keating, local hardware dealer. The store was later moved to the north side of the square and occupied that location for more than a quarter of a century until about a year ago, when the building was purchased by Chas. V. Agee and Mr. Keating purchased the building on the east side of the square where his store is located now.

It interests all classes and sexes. The emancipated – those who have had their hair bobbed – have coined a term for those who have not – “horse and buggy”. This has taken its place beside that other term of opprobrium and scorn – “Old Ironsides” – applied to those of the younger generation who still wear corsets. Taken from glamourdaze.com).
