The Wishard Chapel church congregation held their last morning service in the original church building, and ushered in over 200 people to dedicate their new house of worship on Sunday, March 24.
Doubling the seating capacity of their sanctuary, their new worship center was designed to seat at least 200 people.
Upon entering, guests were welcomed into a fellowship hall, with a large kitchen in the far right corner. To the left, the sanctuary could be seen through large windows, and the full elevated stage was on display along the far west side of the building.
An elevated sound booth in the NE corner of the sanctuary was tucked out of the way, but provided a clear view of everyone on stage.
The dedication service was delivered throughout the building by ceiling speakers in every room of the church, allowing parents with small children, or an overflowing fellowship hall to follow along.
Guests were invited to worship along with the church praise team including Carol Anne McCreary, Grace Warin, Barbie Belzer, Jodie Wurster, Laurie Anne Belzer, Kim Stark, Ruth Gregg, Cindy Stephens, Lanelle Ferguson, Robert Ferguson, Jim McCreary, and Joe Werner.
Benson Hainline and Pastor Bill Armstrong honored their benefactors, and Jeremy Weeda and Matt Gilliland addressed guests on behalf of the builders.

The church board first invited Matt Gilliland with BG Builders to entertain the idea of building a new church in December of 2022.
“This is not our normal project,” said Gilliland, Usually our forte is custom homes.”
Dave Weeda and Benson Hainline helped guide the church project, and at least 27 companies were part of the building process, including well over 100 employees.
“I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to you as a church,” said Matt Gilliland, of BG Builders, “I can’t tell you how nice it is to have an appreciative and thankful customer.”
Gilliland then issued a challenge to the Wishard Chapel Church members.
“If we just build a church, have this big grand event, and then do nothing with it, we have failed,” stated Gilliland, “I want to challenge you to take what you have, use it to the best of your abilities, praise God, and see what He does.”
Special songs were performed by the First Things First singers, and after prayer and dedication of the building concluded, guests were invited to stay for refreshments, fellowship, and a tour the new facility.
The children’s ministry programs that have been meeting in a small separate building, will now enjoy use of five classrooms, a toddler room and a nursery equipped with a baby changing area.
“It wouldn’t be possible without the gift of LeRoy and Betty Jean (Butch) Trimble,” announced Pastor Bill Armstrong, “They sowed the seed, but there’s been others that have given along the way, whether it be the resources, the time, the talents, the treasures, whatever it might be.”
Wishard Chapel Church will hold their first official church service in their new worship center on Easter Sunday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m.
