Danny Lynn Gregg, age 68, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 3rd at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. Danny was born on August 14th, 1955, to his parents, Calvin Lee and Fern Louise Gregg in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
He was known to always have an interesting story to tell and especially loved telling them to family and friends. He was raised on a farm for most of his early life, before moving with his parents to join the city life of Mount Ayr. Danny also worked a short time for the Mount Ayr Schools in the custodian services. He enjoyed his school years being an assistant to part of the coaching staff for the basketball and baseball programs.
After graduating high school Danny enjoyed spending time with friends at the Tingley Community Center or the Mount Ayr American Legion Hall, playing cards, or cribbage and also spending time at the Mount Ayr Bowling Alley. Danny was a member of the Kellerton Assembly of God Church in Kellerton, Iowa. He loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. Revelation 21:4 NKJV says, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Danny will be remembered for his smile, his love for sports, especially for his two favorite teams – the Iowa Hawkeyes and Atlanta Braves, and the love he shared with family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Fern Gregg, brother Larry, grandparents, Alvin and Jenny Gregg, nephews Robbie Gregg, J.R. Gregg, Michael Gregg, niece Marilee Gregg and great niece Jolynn Kimball.
His loving family who survive him and cherish his memory include brother, Marvin Gregg and wife Pat of Oakland, Iowa, sister Connie Bittner and husband Jay Bittner of Griswold, Iowa, brother Bob Gregg and wife Regina of Omaha, Nebraska, brother Jerry Gregg and wife Barb of Redding, Iowa, brother Ronnie Gregg and wife Joyce of Mount Ayr, Iowa, sister Kathy Kirkpatrick and husband Mike of Elkhorn, Nebraska and brother Roger Gregg and wife Carla of Tingley, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established for the Tingley Community Center Building Fund.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 7 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Pastor Bill Armstrong officiating. Music of How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, and Power in the Blood was provided by Grace Warin & Barbie Belzer with Nancy Sackett accompanying. Casket Bearers were Wesley Gregg, Lanie Sheil, Kevin Trullinger, Dakota Schultz, John Overholtzer, Mike Gilliland. Danny was laid to rest in the Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa.

Danny was a very nice and happy guy,I took care of his mom and dad at my ayr health care when I worked their back in 2012 he will be missed.RIP
