Perseverance is necessary
To the editor:
Thomas Edison, a man with incredible gifts and a talent for innovation. A man who created the light bulb and telegraph as well as over 2,000 other patents in his lifetime.
If you remember from your history textbooks, Edison tried and failed 2,774 times for the light bulb, but on the 2,775th try, the ligh tbulb came to life!
In the same way, Christ brings us to life.
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” John 1:4 (NIV). Because Jesus died on the cross, rose again on the third day, and ascended into Heaven, He is alive. As believers, our old self has to die in order so that Christ may live in us.
Thomas Edison tried that light bulb 2,774 times just for that one time to work. Christ does the same, leaving the ninety-nine for the wandering one. “And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.” Matthew 18:13 (NIV). Pursue God for He will pursue you!
