Marjorie Marlene Williams

Marjorie Marlene Williams was born to Jack & Alta (Johnson) Childers on May 20, 1925, in the family home in Iowa.
Marjorie grew up dividing her time between Iowa and Colorado. She spent her summers in Colorado but would return to Diagonal, Iowa for the rest of the year. She attended and graduated from Diagonal High School. Following graduation, Marjorie moved to Omaha, Nebraska and would further her education by obtaining her Associates of Arts. She worked in accounting for several years before pursuing a career with the California Fish & Game Department as a Ranger Aide.
Marjorie married Ansel Eugene “Bill” Williams. He was in the military, and they lived in several places, settling in Palm Springs, California.
Marjorie returned to Iowa in 2022. She became a resident of Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. There she made friends with staff, residents and visitors of the community. Although Marjorie’s eyesight diminished with age, she was able to convey her compassion and gentleness to all who would visit her. She passed away on February 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her children Eugene Williams and Barbara Follis; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Marjorie’s wishes were to be cremated and buried on her mother’s lot in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr oversaw the arrangements.
