Recognized for Everyday Impact
DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa State Fair Everyday Impact Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to make a positive impact during the fair. These awards highlight acts of kindness, helpfulness, and going the extra mile to enhance the fair experience for others. Mike Wimer, who has served on livestock control for 22 years, was one of everyday impact award winners at this year’s Iowa State Fair.
In making the announcement, fair officials stated: “Whether it was answering calls at 2 in the morning to catch loose sheep or rescuing a calf that got lost in Stockman’s Inn, Mike has been here for it all this year and done so with class! Livestock shows and the Iowa State Fair go hand and hand, and it can’t happen without great people on our livestock control team like Mike.”
