Obituaries: Ruth Arnolene Hull

Ruth Arnolene Hull was born at home on August 19, 1937, in Clarke County, Iowa to Arno Graham and Helen Burk Graham. Arnolene was born the third of ten children. She attended country school at Doyle #1 for her elementary years, then graduated high school in 1958 from Murray High School in Murray, Iowa.
Arnolene was united in marriage to Lyle Hull on January 23, 1958, in Clark, Missouri at her sister’s home. Their family grew with the arrival of Richard Duane in 1959, Kimberly Sue in 1962, and Connie Jo in 1964. While the kids were growing up, Arnolene worked at various jobs. Later, Arnolene began her favorite career, babysitting most of her grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Her biggest love was her family. A favorite pastime would be spending time with her sisters, especially her Sunday calls from Betty. Arnolene also enjoyed playing cards with family, listening to country western music and recently began embroidery again creating a set of pillowcases for a wedding gift. After Lyle’s passing, she learned how much she loved bingo, which she enjoyed playing at Heritage Park and Clearview. She had a great circle of friends at Heritage Park. She also took great pride in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, especially basketball and baseball, even into their adult years.
Arnolene left this world on October 19, 2025. Preceding her in death were her parents, Arno and Helen Graham, her husband Lyle Hull, her daughter Connie, son-in-law Lloyd Hubbard and grandson Steven Hubbard, her brothers Ronnie and Donnie Graham, sisters Patsy Istas and Betty Spire, brothers-in-law Bill Spire and Kenny Haliburton.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Richard (Marsha) Hull, and daughter Kimberly (Jeff) Nieman, her grandchildren Joe Hull, Michelle (Trevor) Long, Ashley (Curt) Vanderflught, Raece (Shelly) Nieman, Matthew (Ashley) Hubbard, Jake Hubbard, and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Hank (Barb) Graham, Ruby Haliburton, Shirley (Dennis) King, Dean (Donna) Graham, Carolyn (Don) Eblen, Bill (Rhonda) Graham, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Arnolene was a quiet presence and even though her light is no longer shining, she will be remembered by so many lives that she has touched throughout her life.
Services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Armstrong Funeral Home with burial following in the Tingley Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the family to decide.
