Homer Greenrod

Homer Greenrod, son of William Henry and Jennie Greenrod, was born June 13, 1896, in Ringgold County near Caledonia and died October 20, at Camp Sheridan, Alabama, aged 22 years, five months and seven days.

He was called to the colors September 5, 1918 and served his first month at Camp Dodge, from where he was transferred to Camp Sheridan. He had lived most of his life in  this vicinity until the last two years, which he spent in Nebraska and South Dakota. Homer had a happy disposition and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his death his father, mother, three brothers and three sisters: Leland J., Georgia Marie, Lilly Dale, Lola Blanche, Patsy and Doland, an infant sister departing this life at birth and a host of other relatives and friends.

His body was laid to rest in the Leasonville Cemetery October 24.
