Mrs. M.E. Sawyer

Will Sawyer received the sad message Saturday night that his mother, Mrs. M.E. Sawyer, of Salem, OR., passed away Sunday morning, July 13, at 6:30 a.m. She had been in poor health for some time and for the past six months she had been in the Deaconess Hospital, where she died. Her age was seventy-eight years, four months and eight days.  She is survived by four sons; John W. of southern California; Frank D. of Dayton, OR.; Jesse E. of Tacoma, WA; and William V. of Mount Ayr, IA.  Funeral services were held by Rev. E.H. Shanks, pastor of the First Baptist Church at Salem, OR.  The body was laid to rest in the Jason Lee Memorial Cemetery at Salem.
