Pheobe Jane Hibner Price
Pheobe Jane Hibner was born in Richland County, OH, April 2, 1843 and died at her home in Des Moines September 16, 1924 aged 81 years, four months and nineteen days, after a brief illness. At the age of five years with her parents moved to Illinois and grew to womanhood in that state, was married to Elijah Price September 22,1864. To this union ten children were born: George H., James A., Eva M. Bear, John T., Sarah E. Williams, Ida Renner, May Fishburn, William A., Louise J. and Ethel. All are left to miss her. They came to Iowa in 1879 and made Ringgold County their home for most of the time until the death of Mr. Price, November 6, 1918. In early girlhood Mrs. Price came to know the Christ as her Savior, uniting with the Lutheran Church. After her marriage in 1864, she united with the Methodist Church and as ever lived a faithful consistent Christian life, ever evincing a keen interest in the things of the Kingdom. To know her, to talk with her was to be assured that she knew Him whom she had believed and was quite confident He was able to keep that which she had committed unto Him. Besides the children she leave five brothers and three sisters, twenty-five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Verily a good mother in Isreal, hath fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith, has gone home to claim the crown of righteousness which is hers, because she was faithful unto the end.
