SARAH ANNE HARTLEY BRADLEY

AFTER AN ILLNESS OF THREE YEARS DURATION, MRS. JOHN BRADLEY PASSED AWAY MONDAY, OCTOBER 6 AT 10:15 P.M. AT HER HOME IN NORTH MOUNT AYR.  THE FUNERAL WAS HELD THIS AFTERNOON AT 1 O’CLOCK FROM THE CHURCH OF CHRIST, CONDUCTED BY THE PASTOR, REV. ROSS WILLIAMS, AND THE BODY WAS LAID TO REST IN MOUNT ZION CEMETERY.  SARAH ANNE HARTLEY WAS BORN IN THE COUNTY OF YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND, JUNE 4, 1854.  SHE DIED AT HER HOME IN MOUNT AYR, IA, OCTOBER 6, 1924, AGED 70 YEARS, FOUR MONTHS AND TWO DAYS.  IN THE YEAR 1876 SHE MARRIED TO JOHN BRADLEY.  TWELVE CHILDREN WERE BORN TO THEM.  EIGHT BOYS AND FOUR GIRLS.  ONE GIRL AND TWO BOYS DIED IN INFANCY AND THE SURVIVING CHILDREN ARE: AIB, ELLEN ANNE, ANNIE MARY, JAMES, BERNARD AND EHTEL WHO LIVE IN ENGLAND;  JOHN E., HERBERT, AND HARRY OF MOUNT AYR.  SHE LEAVES THREE BROTHERS IN ENGLAND, TEN GRANDCHILDREN AND NUMEROUS OTHER RELATIVES.  SHE CAME FROM ENGLAND TWELVE YEARS AGO AND FOR SEVEN YEARS LIVED ON FARMS NEAR KELLERTON, THEN MOVED TO MOUNT AYR AND THIS HAS SINCE BEEN HER HOME.  WHEN A GIRL SHE UNITED WITH CHURCH AND HAS LIVED A FAITHFUL, CONSISTENT CHRISTIAN LIFE.
