SARAH ADA FERTIG KEIT

SARAH ADA FERTIG, DAUGHTER OF GEORGE A. AND MARY L. FERTIG, WAS BORN IN RINGGOLD COUNTY, IOWA, MARCH 19, 1871, AND DEPARTED THIS LIFE OCTOBER 15, 1924, AGED 53 YEARS, SIX MONTHS AND TWENTY-ONE DAYS.  IN 1893 SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO F.E. KEITH.  TO THIS UNION WERE BORN TWO CHILDREN, CHESTER, OF DES MOINES, AND GLADYS CARSON, OF DIAGONAL.  SHE LEAVES TO MOURN, HER HUSBAND, TWO CHILDREN, HER AGED MOTHER, SIX GRANDCHILDREN, FOUR SISTERS AND TWO BROTHERS, MRS. DR. LANDIS OF BENTON, MRS. O.D. NICHOLSON OF GUNNISON, COLORADO, MRS. L.M. DAVIS OF LINCOLN, NE., JAMES OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, MRS. ROY MERRILL OF DES MOINES, AND WILLIAM OF BENTON, AND MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.  ON JULY 1, 1881, SHE WAS TAKEN SERIOUSLY ILL, NEVER FULLY RECOVERING AND HAS BEEN A CONSTANT SUFFERER THROUGH THE YEARS SINCE BUT SHE BORE HER AFFLICTION WITH PATIENCE AND CHEERFULNESS.  SHE WAS ALWAYS GREATFUL FOR THE DEEDS OF KINDNESS SHOWN HER.  SHE SEEMED TO HAVE MORE THOUGHT FOR THE COMFORT OF OTHERS THAN HERSELF.  SHE WAS A FAITHFUL WIFE AND A KIND MOTHER.  SHE HAD OBEYED THE COMMANDS OF THE SAVIOR AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY OF GOD.  THE PROMISES WERE ALL HERS. THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:30 O’CLOCK FROM THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AT BENTON, CONDUCTED BY ELDER J. D. DILLE, A SCHOOLMATE OF THE DECEASED. THE REMAINS WERE LAID TO REST IN THE BENTON CEMETERY.
