Larry Lynn Roach April 12, 1951-July 23, 2009

 Larry Lynn Roach, son of Albert and Winnifred (Winnie) Scott Roach, was born April 12, 1951 in Creston, Iowa.

Larry graduated from Mount Ayr Community high school in 1969. While living in Mount Ayr, Larry worked construction jobs and also worked at the Southside Bar. He loved to bowl and belonged to a local bowling team that competed in league bowling.

Larry then had a 22-year career in Des Moines, first working with the Amoco Motor Club as a dispatcher and then Citi in payment support in Urbandale. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Cubs and NASCAR.

Larry passed away at his home in Des Moines on July 23, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1965; mother in March 2008, and a brother, Billy Ray, in 1975.

Survivors include his sister, Cheryl Roach; nephew, Billy Jo Baker; uncle, Bill Scott and friend Hazel Lee of Shannon City, Iowa and other relatives and  friends.

Services were held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Monday, July 27, 2009, with Rev. Edward Shields officiating. Musical selections were ‘Go Rest High On That Mountain’ and ‘How Great Thou Art.’

Casket bearers included Jerry Reedy, Dan Trenez, Ely Villanova, Don Stringham, Larry Rice and Danny Webb.

                  Larry was laid at rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
