Lila Livingston Jackson April 26, 1930-August 11, 2009

Lila Livingston Jackson, age 79, of the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone, and formerly of Winterset, Tingley and Arispe, died August 11, 2009, at the home in Boone. Her body has been cremated and graveside services were held on Friday, August 14, 2009, at the Winterset Cemetery in Winterset. Burial followed the service.
Lila was born in Lorimor, Iowa, on April 26, 1930, the daughter of Clarence and Blanche (Ham) Livingston. She graduated from Zion high school in Zion in 1948 and on June 13, 1948, she married Charles Jackson, Sr. in Zion.
Lila worked at several jobs including the U.S. Postal Service and she was a bakery clerk at The Bakery Unlimited in Winterset, retiring in 1995. Lila enjoyed crafts, sewing and making quilts and performing alterations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, a brother Jack Livingston, a grandson Aaron Jackson and a sister-in-law Carolyn Livingston.
Lila is survived by a son Charles Jackson, Jr. and wife Kahla of Wapello; a daughter Pamela Ricker and husband Robert of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; three brothers Hugh Livingston and wife Shirley of Indianola, Rex Livingston and wife Mary of Fontanelle, and Gene Livingston of Menlo; a sister-in-law Katherine Livingston of Winterset; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in the name of Lila to a charity of choice.
