Marvin L. Reynolds January 2, 1934 – June 1, 2010

Marvin L. Reynolds, 76, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his home.
He was born January 2, 1934, in Lincoln township, MO, a son of Earl T. and Opal L. Puttroff Reynolds.
Marvin graduated from Mount Ayr high school in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Marvin Lee ‘Mack’ was united in marriage to Norma Jean Ruckman, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and from that union three children were born. He farmed for many years in the Mount Ayr area. Later, Marvin and Norma divorced. He moved to Sedalia, Missouri, and continued farming near Otterville and selling crop insurance. Marvin’s interests included buying, restoring and selling old tractors. He enjoyed working with his farm machinery and looked forward to harvesting crops every year. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1494 since 1983.
Surviving are three children, Brenda Sharpe, of Albia, Iowa, Michael Reynolds (Linda), of Spring Hill, Kansas, and Lori Vitko (Ray), of Albia, Iowa; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Olive Davis, Mildred Drake (Paul), Lila Overholtzer (Jim), and Betty Davenport (Cecil), all of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and Lou Church (Steve), of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and his longtime companion, Sheryl Philliber, of Sedalia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Reynolds, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Paul Davis and Allen Richards; and a sister-in-law, Fern Reynolds.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 4, 2010, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with the Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.
Casket bearers were his grandsons, Jeremy Weeda, Tyler Vitko, Tanner Vitko, Riley Sharpe, Nick Reynolds and Alex Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Lucas Lynch, Heather Hindman and Kaitlyn Vitko.
Graveside services were also held Friday, June 4 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
