Vera B. Doolittle September 1, 1924 – August 8, 2010

  Vesta Doolittle, 85, died on August 8, 2010 at home. Vesta was born on September 1, 1924 in Lamoni, Iowa to Harvey and Mabel Corll.

She married Clinton Doolittle in 1942. Together they had four children, Gary Doolittle, Jan Derrick and Rhonda Fisher. Their daughter, Dolores, died when she was 10 days old. 

Vesta was a homemaker for most of her life and was active at Highland Park Christian Church. Joining the congregation in 1991, Vesta served as chairwoman of the Deaconesses for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton, and three sisters. She is survived by her three children, brother and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, August 12, at Merle Hay Funeral Home (4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines). Burial was at Chapel Hill Gardens.
