Pauline Minnick March 20, 1919, September 2, 2010

  Pauline Minnick, daughter of Sam and Florence (Davenport) Culver, was born in Athens township in Ringgold county on March 20, 1919. She was one of three children.

On February 13, 1937 she was united in marriage to Raymond Minnick in Creston, Iowa. They continued to farm with Raymond’s parents and later purchased a farm northeast of Diagonal, Iowa in 1943. They had three children, Larry, Elaine and Mary Louise. In February of 1977 they moved into a home in Mount Ayr. She enjoyed working at the country club with Raymond. In October of 1994 she moved into Clearview Home.

Pauline enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She loved music, dancing and always had beautiful gardens. Her greatest joy was having her family around the table for Sunday dinner. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, her honesty and respect for others and her special Sunday dinners.

Pauline passed away on September 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; two brothers, Ralph and Gene; a son, Larry; a daughter, Mary Louise, and one great-grandson, Jamison Yearous.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Elaine and husband Eldon Morris; six grandchildren, Michele (Llewellyn) Thomas and husband Mark, Lesa Nehring, Jamie Llewellyn and wife Amy, Angela (Morris) Hedberg, Sheila (Morris) McMain and husband Kurt and Melissa (Morris) Schultz  and husband Wayne; 12 great-grandchildren, Sean Pollard, Troy Yearous, Courtney Yearous, Braden Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Nicholas Hedberg, Nathan Hedberg, Kala McMain, Sheldon McMain, Jessie McMain, Gwyneth Llewellyn and Ethan Schultz, and one great-great-grandchild, Emma Jane McMain.

Memorials are to the Diagonal Community School Library and Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. Arrangements were by Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Services were conducted at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, with Rev. Skip Rushing officiating. Musicians were Judy Newton, Andy Trullinger, Mary Davenport and Margaret Bickers.

Casket bearers included Kurt McMain, Wayne Schultz, Mark Thomas, Jamie Llewellyn, Nick Hedberg, Nate Hedberg and Sheldon McMain.

Pauline was laid at rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
