Byron Willard Hervey June 22, 1930 – December 21, 2010

  Byron Willard Hervey, 80, passed away on December 21, 2010 at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He was born June 22, 1930 in Scotland county, Missouri to Willard and Opal Wolf Hervey. He attended Keosauqua high school. He married Florencie Ewing on March 30, 1948. They divorced in 1993. He married Marion Swank in 1997.

Byron was a farm implement dealer for 46 years in Keosauqua.  He was a member of the Keosauqua fire department and the Keosauqua city council and a member of the Van Buren Flying Club.

He is survived by his wife; children, Marshia (Bruce) Mosena of Belle Vista, Alaska, Kathy (Francis) Horn of Fairfield, Iowa, Randy (Susan Mosinski) of Keosauqua, Iowa and Kevin (Gayle) of Keosauqua, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Carol Hervey of Birmingham, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Shirley (David) Hightshoe of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Steve (Sue) Swank of Maloy, Iowa, Kenneth (Jeanne) Swank of Monett, Missouri; four stepgrandchildren, and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; sister, Valara Ferris, and son, Steve.  

The body has been cremated and a celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date with interment at Center Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua. A memorial has been established in Byron’s name to Center Chapel Cemetery and can be sent to Kathy Horn, 504 E. Washington Avenue, Fairfield, IA  52556.

Local arrangements are through Watson-Armstron Funeral Home in Mount Ayr.
