Richard Harrison Brock January 5, 1917 – March 4, 2011

  Richard Harrison Brock, son of Edward and Mary Olive (Jones) Brock, was born January 5, 1917 at Jewell, Iowa. On May 11, 1940, Richard married Esther Vold. He farmed near Woolstock and was also the service manager at Jones Implement in Woolstock. After retiring, they enjoyed winters in Texas. Richard enjoyed cards, dominos and square dancing. In 2003 he moved into Webster City and in October 2008 he moved into the Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.

Richard passed away the morning of March 4, 2011. He was preceded  in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Vic and wife Bev Brock and Roger and wife Hazel Brock; sister, Edna Heng and husband Marion, and brother-in-law, LaVerne Anfinson.

Survivors include his children, Dean (Ann) Brock of Lacanada, California, Bruce (Janet) Brock of Altoona, Iowa, Wayne (Tonna) Brock of McKinney, Texas, Cheri (Kevin) Dessinger of Mount Ayr, Iowa and Gloria (Doug) Kinseth of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 11 grandchildren including Kris (Clint) Spurrier of Mount Ayr, Iowa; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Anfinson of Webster City, Iowa, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Brock was cremated and a memorial service is being planned in May 2011 in Webster City, Iowa.

Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr is in charge of the local arrangements.
