Vaughn Andrew Case December 21, 1923 – March 1, 2011

Vaughn Andrew Case was born to Orville Rolland Case and Jennie Miller Case born December 21, 1923 on a farm south of Ellston, Iowa where he lived all of his adult life. Vaughn graduated from Ellston high school in 1941. He married Betty Louise Dusenbery on February 4, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. Born to this union were Charles Rolland and Marcia Ann Case Wharam.
Vaughn was a lifetime farmer on the same farm he was born on. He worked for a short time for the Iowa DOT in 1954. Vaughn drove a school bus for the Mount Ayr Community school district for 16 years.
Vaughn enjoyed working with his Angus cattle and attending his grandchildren’s school and other activities.
Vaughn passed away March 1, 2011 at the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty, of 65 years; daughter, Marcia, and grandson, Travis Case.
Survivors include his son, Charlie Case and wife Diane of Mount Ayr, Iowa; two grandchildren, Darrel Case and wife Dana of Tabor, Iowa and Lywanda Case of Mount Ayr, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Josh Case of Mount Ayr, Iowa and Zach and T.J. Case of Council Bluffs, Iowa; stepgreat-grandchildren Dacia Leytham of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Trevor and Emily Perkins of Tabor, Iowa, and stepgreat-great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Lockard.
Prayer time was held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Friday, March 4, 2011, with Rev. Edward Shields officiating. Memorials are to HCI Care Services – Mount Ayr and Ellston Pioneer Museum.
