Melba Jackson June 14, 1919 – April 7, 2011

  Melba Jackson, 91, passed away on April 7, 2011, at the Garden Terrace in Overland Park, Kansas. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel with burial following at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa.

Melba was born on June 14, 1919 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to John and Agnes Willey. She was a long-time member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and very active in church-oriented service projects and activities.

She will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Roberta Sue Jackson of Overland Park, Kansas; grandson, Christopher David Jackson and fianc?? Rebecca Quinn of Grandview, Missouri; brother, Donald Willey of Creston, Iowa, and sister, Verena Webb of Urbandale, Iowa. 

Melba is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 36 years, Albert L. Jackson; daughter, Marlene Kay Jackson; sister, Mary Thompson, and brothers, Orrin, Harold and J.B. Willey.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 15, at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society for Research.
