Jack Edgar Moore May 8, 1922 – June 12, 2011

Jack Edgar Moore, son of Arthur Roy and Sarah Blanche (Richards) Moore, was born May 8, 1922 at home north of Mount Ayr, Iowa on Highway 169. A few years later his family moved south about a mile. While living there Jack attended Side Hill school through the fourth grade. Jack was also baptized at the Wishard Chapel Church during that time.
The family then moved to Mount Ayr where Jack attended school and graduated from Mount Ayr high school in 1939. That summer he met Vera Florence Austin who had moved to Mount Ayr following her graduation at the Lorimor high school. They were married December 7, 1941 at Bethany, Missouri. Jack and Vera had a very special relationship and marriage that lasted 69 ?? years.
Jack worked hard most of his life and enjoyed it. He worked as a milk man for many years; milking cows, bottling milk and delivering house to house plus picking up canned milk from area farmers for Ringgold Dairy. Eventually he sold milk for Borden Dairy and delivered milk to most of the schools, stores and towns in Ringgold county plus the Grant City and Sheridan, Missouri area. Jack sold his business in 1970 but kept busy with his Angus cattle, his large garden and pumpkin patch, tilling gardens and doing yard work for others and mowing area cemeteries. He always had a smile, could visit with anyone and loved his family. Jack lived his entire life in Ringgold county and was well known and liked by all who knew him. He and Vera helped many people and most were very grateful. Jack passed away June 12, 2011.
