Judy Clymer February 6, 1940 – June 23, 2011

Judy Clymer, 71, of Tingley, Iowa passed away June 23, 2011 at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Judy, daughter of Kathleen Dilly and Harold Townsend, was born February 6, 1940 in Muscatine, Iowa. She graduated from Muscatine high school. Judy was in the first graduating registered nursing class at South Iowa Community College. She worked as a registered nurse at the Clearview Home and at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany, Missouri. She also taught emergency cardiac through Creighton University at Albany.
Judy married Arvid ‘Bo’ Clymer on January 5, 1969. She has lived in Tingley from 1971 until becoming a resident of Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr of September 2009.
Survivors include her daughters, Beth Kenny of Des Moines, Iowa and Terri Chafa of Tingley, Iowa; sons, Eric (Monica) Clymer of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Bob (Kelli) Clymer of Prairie City, Iowa and Jerry (Beth) Weikert of Muscatine, Iowa; grandchildren, Chelsey Clymer, Alicia Tussey, Ashley Clymer, Cade Clymer, Cole Clymer, Leah Clymer, Jordan Clymer, Monique Kenny, Megan Kern, Bradley Clymer, Mitchell Clymer, Bo Clymer, Wyatt Clymer, Wesley Armstrong Clymer, Skylar Armstrong Clymer and Brittany Marshall; great-grandchildren, Taylor Clymer, Alexa Clymer, Brynn Tussey, Jensan Tussey, Jace Clymer, Ryan Clymer, Alivia Harris, Alexia Fannon and Laine Marshall, and brother, Harold ‘Rusty’ Townsend of Miami, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Townsend; mother, Kathleen Harris; husband, Bo Clymer; daughter, Melissa Clymer; great-grandson, Cristian Clymer, and brother, Harry Townsend.
A memorial fund has been established in her name. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the services.
Memorial services were held at the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, with Rev. Chris Conklin officiating.
Honorary pallbearers included Jordan Clymer, Cade Clymer, Cole Clymer, Jace Clymer, Bradley Clymer, Mitchell Clymer, Ryan Clymer, Laine Marshall, Wesley Clymer, Skylar Clymer, Bo Clymer and Wyatt Clymer.
A private burial was held at the Tingley Cemetery in Tingley.
