Hope E. Wynes April 9, 1942 – July 26, 2011

  Hope E. Wynes, daughter of Isaac and Ola (Pope) Thayer, was born April 9, 1942 at Fairfax, Missouri. She went to be with her Lord on July 26, 2011 after a four-year battle with cancer.

Hope graduated from Fairfax high school in 1960. She went to nurses training in Kansas City, Missouri for three years. Hope married Rex Wilcox in 1963. They had one son, Cory, in 1969. They later divorced in 1978. In 1980 Hope married Jack L. Wynes. Hope became a grandmother in 1991 when Corbin Wilcox was born and again in 1995 when Colby Wilcox was born. Hope was of the Baptist faith. She was the sweetest thing this side of Heaven. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Wynes of Mount Ayr, Iowa; son, Cory (Dawn) Wilcox of Elkins, Arkansas; grandsons, Corbin and Colby Wilcox of Elkins, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Velma Wilcox of Oskaloosa, Iowa; sister, Lola (Gary) Son of Shenandoah, Iowa; two brothers, Doug Thayer of Tarkio, Missouri and Marvin Thayer of Council Bluffs, Iowa; many nieces and nephews, and all of her beloved animals.

Hope was preceded in death by her parents and two infant children.

Hope was cremated and her wish was to have her ashes spread over her beloved farm south of Mount Ayr.

Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr assisted with the arrangements.
