Beverly Jane Hall July 9, 1934 – August 11, 2011

    Beverly Jane Hall, daughter of Arlene (Arnold) Toney and Glen Toney, was born July 9, 1934 at home east of Ellston, Iowa.
    Beverly was known as ‘Sook’ by family and friends around Ellston. The family moved to California from 1941 to 1945. They returned to the Ellston area and Sook graduated from Ellston high school.
    On January 9, 1953, she married Robert Lewis (Bob) Hall in Missouri. They lived on a farm southwest of Ellston from 1953 to 1966. In 1966, they moved to a farm northeast of Ellston and lived there for six years. In 1973, they purchased a farm southwest of Osceola, Iowa and this has been her home since. In the early years of their marriage, area farmers exchanged work for each other and Beverly would cook wonderful meals for those helping. She was a farm wife who enjoyed cooking and caring for the needs of the household. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading.
    Beverly passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob on December 6, 1991, and a brother Edwin Toney.
    Survivors include her son Barry Hall of Osceola, Iowa; brother Dennis Toney and wife Bonnie of Syracuse, New York, and nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials are to the Ellston United Methodist Church.
    Funeral services were held on August 16, 2011 at the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Pastor Robin L. Thomas officiating. Musicians were Cathy Brause and Pastor Thomas.
    Casketbearers were Corey Chew, Monte S. Chew, Doug Crai, LeRoy Wood, Joe Dukes and Quentin Anderson.
    Beverly was laid to rest in the Ellston Cemetery near Ellston, Iowa.
