Leonard Lee Still February 24, 1929 – October 4, 2011

  Leonard Lee Still, 82, of Conesville, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction, Iowa. A memorial has been established at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Leonard’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Still family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Leonard Lee Still was born on February 24, 1929, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the son of Leonard Lon and Mary Ellen (Parker) Still. Leonard was united in marriage to Violet Van Winkle on June 8, 1950 in Creston, Iowa. Four children were born to this marriage, Joan, Kevin, Terry and Gordon. Lee farmed in the Ringgold county area and then was employed as a welder at Carver Pump. He also worked at the Plamore Lanes in Muscatine and Deaton Bowl in Columbus Junction doing maintenance work for both bowling alleys. In later years, Lee shared his home with Genevieve. They enjoyed raising a large garden. They also loved decorating the outside of their home at Christmas time.  

Leonard will be dearly missed by his children, Joan Jimmerson and husband Dan of Des Moines, Iowa, Kevin Still and wife Linda of Columbus City, Terry Still and wife Vicki of Bedford, Iowa and Gordon Still and special friend Reeta of Clearfield, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; sister, Joyce, and two brothers, Eldon and Ed.      

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet; Genevieve; three sisters, Emma, Ethel and Lucina, and three brothers, Guy, Ray and George.
