Robert Lee (Bob) Poush, son of Sim and Mabel (Pottorff) Poush, was born August 10, 1921 near Lamoni, Iowa.
Bob was united in marriage to Marie Scott on October 28, 1938. Together they had two children, Byrle and Roberta.
Bob and Marie lived for a short time in Colorado and Bob worked in the beet fields. They returned to Mount Ayr where they raised their children. Bob was a mechanic and worked at the Chevrolet garage and later the Plymouth-Dodge garage before starting and operating his own mechanic shop, Poush Auto Repair, for many years. Bob was a handyman in all areas. He fixed cars and about anything else that needed fixing. Bob and Marie enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing. Marie passed away August 11, 1993 after an extended illness.
On October 23, 1994, Bob married Mary (Larkin) Richards. They enjoyed their time together dancing, and enjoying retired life. Mary passed away March 5, 2008. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bob passed away November 11, 2011 after becoming a resident of the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Rob Wilson; both wives, and son-in-law, Doyle Campbell.
Survivors include his children, Byrle Poush of Venice, California and Roberta Campbell of Mount Ayr, Iowa; stepchildren, Jane Richards of Corning, Iowa and Jeannie Richards, John Richards and Jerry Richards, Sr., all of Creston, Iowa; grandchildren, Candi Campbell (special friend Mike Zarr), Kenneth Campbell (special friend Brenda Schad), Michelle (Greg) Smith and Rebecca Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Tyler Campbell, Emily Campbell, Sarah Campbell, Laura Rose Campbell, Kristian Trujillo and Amy Elizabeth Smith; stepgrandchildren, Abbi Petersen, Sue Ann Peterson, Cheryl Richards, Jerry Richards, Jr. and Terri Richards, and brother-in-law, Max Scott.
A memorial fund has been established to the Kellerton Assembly of God Church.
Services were held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Monday, November 14, 2011, with Rev. Barton Shields officiating. Musicians were Clyde and Alice Sweeten and Kenny Campbell.
Casket bearers included Max Buckner, Justin Petersen, John Richards, Jerry Richards Jr., Rod Smith and Rod Holmes.
Bob was laid at rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
