Jim Bammer November 13, 1948 – December 26, 2011

  Jim Bammer, 63, of Creston,  Iowa, died, Monday, December 26, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Celeste Waymire officiated the service. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery west of Sidney, Iowa. Jimmie ‘Jim’ Dean Bammer, son of Neva Lorene (Keever) and Marshall Waldon Bammer, was born November 13, 1948 in Mound City, Missouri. He graduated from Mound City high school in 1966.  On August 8, 1972 he married Peggy Ann Clapper in a country church near Mound City, Missouri.  They settled in Anderson, Iowa later moving to Malvern in 1976. They later moved to Mount Ayr in 1987 where he farmed and worked for Creston Livestock Auction. In 1992 they moved to Creston where he continued working for Creston Livestock Auction and later working for Creston Feed and Grain and Farmers Coop in Afton as a feed truck operator. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Peggy Bammer of Creston, Iowa; mother, Neva Bammer of Mound City, Missouri; two sons, Wade (wife Joni) Kelso of Essex, Iowa and Phillip (wife Ellen) Bammer of Malvern, Iowa; a daughter, Mary (husband Tim) Waymire of Elk Horn, Iowa; a brother, Jerry (wife Charlotte) Bammer of Mound City, Missouri; a sister, Deborah (husband Larry) Geib of Montgomery City, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Stephanie Lang, Eric (wife Ona) Lang, Wyatt Kelso, Jayda Kelso, Darby Kelso, Gage Kelso, Kassidy Kelso, Ethan Kelso, Nicole Bammer, Matthew Bammer (fianc?? Jami Hatfield), Lexus Waymire, Preston Waymire and Kamryn Waymire, and many nieces, nephews and other family.

  Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father in 2000, and half-brother, David Allan in 1952.
