Larry Dean Jackson December 25, 2956 – January 7, 2012

  Larry Dean Jackson, age 55, of Kellerton, Iowa, died January 7, 2012 in Ringgold county, Iowa following a motor vehicle accident. He was born on December 25, 1956 at Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa to Clarence Ivyl ‘Ike’ and Verda Louise (Mallatt) Jackson.

Larry graduated from Clarke Community Schools in Osceola, Iowa with the class of 1975. He lived most of his life in southern Iowa. He worked construction and made many trips to Texas where he worked as a construction foreman. Recently he was a self-employed carpenter. Larry enjoyed all kinds of fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He loved to cook and smoke meats for all his friends and collect cast iron cookware. At one time he was a member of the Lions Club.

Preceding him in death was his father, Ike Jackson. Survivors include his mother, Verda Jackson of Osceola, Iowa; siblings, Shirley Jackson of Osceola, Iowa, Sandy Fry and husband Gene of West Des Moines, Iowa, Sheila Toney and husband Ron of Urbandale, Iowa and Bob Jackson and wife Glenda of Van Wert, Iowa; 13 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews, who loved their Uncle Tiny, and other relatives and many good friends, whom he considered his family.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade ‘ O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa with Rev. Terry Roberts officiating at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012. Burial will be in the Van Wert Cemetery, Van Wert, Iowa.
