Robert Darren Taylor, age 40, of Mount Ayr, Iowa, died January 13, 2012. He was born May 25, 1971 at Ringgold County Hospital to Alan and Gerri (Caldwell) Taylor.

Bob enjoyed fishing in Grandpa Jack and Grandpa Lynden’s ponds, and watching Lynden feed the catfish. He loved time on the farm with Mike and Connie Lynch. Bob learned to drive by mowing Randy and Karen Taylor’s yard endlessly on their new lawn mower. His favorite pastimes were picking on his sister, Jennifer, Aunt Mary and all of his cousins. As a young man, Bob carried on the family music tradition of his Grandpa Jack, Uncle Steve and his own dad by playing drums in several bands.

Bob graduated from Mount Ayr Community school with the class of 1990. During his marriage to Jamie Stark they had a son, Brett Taylor. Lori Yeager and Bob spent several years together. He loved her daughter, Maisie, as his own. Together Bob and Lori had a daughter, Kylee.

During his life Bob was a carpenter, raised cattle and drove a truck the last few years.

He lived most of his life in the Mount Ayr area with the exception of a few years spent in Colorado when he was young.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and Brett deer hunting. Other pastimes were playing cards with the family and having competitions with Kylee on the Wii and DS. Maisie valued Bob’s opinion when it came to anything to do with her cars. He was very proud of Brett, Maisie and Kylee and all of their accomplishments.
