Frankie Kay Johnson October 10, 1963 – February 15, 2012

  Frankie Kay Johnson, 48, was born October 10, 1963 in Ringgold county, Iowa to Frank E. and Joyce G. (Hale) DeBoard.

Frankie worked for several years at Clearview Home and the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. She married Randy L. Johnson of Saint James, Minnesota in 1985 and they later divorced. Together they had one daughter, Ashly Lynn Johnson. Frankie became paralyzed in 1991 due to a motorcycle accident but she still lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed watching T.V. and movies. Her favorite hobbies included making Dream Catchers, interior decorating and playing cards.

Frankie passed away February 15, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Clyde and Lorene Brenizer, and an infant sister, Debbie E. DeBoard.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Ashly Johnson of Creston, Iowa; a granddaughter soon to be born, Keira Kay Danasia Wright; older brother, Gary Gene DeBoard of Des Moines, Iowa and a younger brother, Michael Ray (Mike) DeBoard of Creston, Iowa; sister-in-law, Judy F. DeBoard of Des Moines, Iowa; two nephews, Chris E. DeBoard and Andy J. DeBoard; one niece, Jennifer F. DeBoard, and several stepnephews and nieces. A memorial fund has been established to the family.

Services were held at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Saturday, February 18, 2012, with Rev. Charles Weiman officiating. Musical selections included ‘Home Sick,’ ‘I’m Gonna Love You Through It,’ ‘Here For A Good Time’ and ‘XXX’s and OOO’s.’

Casket bearers were Darryn Dugan, Chris Dugan, Peter Larsen, Kurt Larsen, Brett McNutt and Randy Johnson.

Frankie was laid at rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr.
